Netball Gala Opening Day held at Palm Island's Football Oval. Fixtures between local teams, with each team playing approximately two games. Remaining fixtures scheduled for Tuesday April 11.

School swimming carnival took place in Townsville for the Annual Carnival at the Tobruk Pool. On Monday, children trained in the pool of Townsville's College of Advanced Education. The next day the team scored 248 points.

Moa Sam flew to Rockhampton for a boxing match against Frank Kemp, the Light Middleweight Champion. Sam defeated Kemp, with a return match scheduled for the 1st of July in Innisfail. Article mentions Moa's father and trainer-manager, Mr. Assan Sam.

Palm Island boys and girls from both schools go to Townsville for a sports day, paid for by money raised in the community. Despite going well, the soccer team lost two games. A loss against Garbutt and a win against Railway Estate in rugby league, and a 10-all draw in netball. Photograph of a dance.

Obituary for Jack Conway. Condolences offered to family following his passing. After arriving in 1921, Conway represented the Palm Isles touring football team in Mt. Isa, Home Hill, Townsville, Brisbane and Charters Towers. Played for home team Wattle, renowned as fastest winger on the field.

A football match took place the Sunday morning after the fights, with another amateur boxing night planned. Soccer teams soon to be picked and training. Good football prospects also noted.

Rugby League match between Palm Island and Cherbourg to be played on consecutive nights in Brisbane and then Ipswich on the 3rd and 4th of May as a part of the Jubilee Festival. Boxers from Cherbourg, Palm Island and Woorabinda settlements will also clash. There is mention that the Department of Native Affairs are bring down 'Aborigines' from the Torres Strait. No comment on what it is they will be doing.
