Three thousand people watched Torres Strait Islanders in an effective flood-lit open air display of dancing and other items at the Exhibition Grounds last night. An impressive war dance by massed island groups formed the climax, and another feature was an inter-settlement Rugby League match, won by Palm Island from Cherbourg, 31-11. Palm Island had a slight advantage because their opponents were playing in bare feet for the first time in 20 years. To-day's return match at Ipswich will be in football boots.
