Description
“Recreation and Entertainment: Hunting in the heavy scrub belt along the coast takes up the main free time of most men during the weekends. Fishing also along coast to augment variety in diet. Privately owned small boats go out to the reef for Trochus fishing etc.
Rugby Football is the favourite ball game, but it is hard to hold interest for a full season.
Cricket is spasmodic as a team game.
Native Dancing ‘Island’ variety and true Abo
riginal style of dancing is the main entertainment. Excellent shows were put on at Christmas and the New Year”.
